SHOTS FIRED AT HOUSE. k PARTY IN A MOTOR-CAR. (Received October 11, 11.40 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Oct. 11. Shots were fired at a house late last night by a party in a motor-car. A young ir "> who was walking homo along the Toorak Koad says ho saw the car brought to a standstill in front of the liouSe, which was near the fashionable quarter of South Varra. Three shots were fired. They wore quickly followed i>y sounds of splintered glass.
Tho car was then driven away. As it turned the corner into another street, two more shots were fired. A police patrol was soon on the scene. Outside tho house they found another car, believed to have been stolen. It was riot occupied. In tho interior were a dressing gown and a bottle of beei>
