THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE. FAIR AVERAGE ACTIVITY. Matters wero moderately active 011 tho Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, and there wet 110 very marked variations in prices. There was a wide demand for Gov ernnien; and local body debentures, and in some instances quotations were close, but for the most part sellers were lacking. Auckland Harbour Board debentures, 1936, 4 po cent, changed hands at £9O, which was the prico given at the latest previous 6ale in August. In bank, Nationals of New Zealand were offered at £7 ss, buyers £7 2s 6d. Business was done in New Zealands at tho current rate of 61s 3d. In loan and agencies buyers were again offering £ll6 for Loan and Mercantiles, sellers £l2O. In coals Renowns, ordinary, which brought 13s Id last week, advanced to sell at 13s 6d, and there was further demand al that figure. In brewery shares New Zealands were offered at 53s 6d at the late call, but buyers wcro not quoting. In miscellaneous three sales of Hayward's Pictures wore eflected at tho current rate of 20s 9d. Milno and Choyce debenture stock changed hands at 24s 9d, an advance 01 3d on tho last previous sale two months ago. Wilsons Cement were again sold at 39s 3d. In mining buyers of Waihis advanced to 14s, sellers 14s 3d. Tho following sales took place:—Auckland Harbour Board, 1936, 4 per cent., £9O; Bank of New Zealand, 61s 3d; Re nown Collieries, ordinary, 13s 6d; Hayward's Pictures, 20s 9d, three sales; Milne and Choyc" debenture stock, 24s 9d; Wilsons Portland Cement, 39s 3d.
