The firs' meeting of the executive of tho Associated Chambers of Commerce in tha Franklin district was held at Pukekoha yesterday to consider remits passed at the last half-yearly conference of the chambers, which was held at Tuakau. It was decided to write the general managei ol railways, urging the duplication of the railway from Auckland as far as Pa.jakura, and the construction of the connecting link of railway between Pokeno and Paeroa.
Messis. U. J. Sumner and Day were anpointed a deputation to the Franklin County Council, to urge the construction of • concrete highway through Franklin from Papakma. via Drurv, Pukekohe and Tuakau to Pokeno
