MOTORING MATTERS.
AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION. QUESTION OF CAMPING SITE. The council of the Auckland Automobile Association met last evening, Mr. A. Grayson presiding. It was stated that although legislation enacted last week gave local bodies wider powers in connection with public reserves thoro was no hopo of a motor camping area being secured on Mount Hobson. The chairman said tho Parks Committeo of tho Auckland City Council was sympathetic and several areas were under consideration. It was resolved to ascertain if a suitable temporary ground could be secured for next summer on the Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Epsom property. Approval of tho introduction of compulsory third party insurance at an annual premium of £1 was expressed. A member remarked that although the legislation would secure an injured party from " men of straw," it was rogrottablo that it did not provido redress against a driver who damaged property. Over 290 new members wcro elected and thoro were 32 deletions and resignations.
