dredging work delayed. [[JV TELEORArn.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.! THAMES, Wednesday Tho Thames Harbour Board met last evening, tho chairman, Mr. J. W. Dan by, presiding. The engineer, Mr. E. F. Adams, reported on damage occasioned by tho schooner Margaret W. colliding with the suction dredge pipe lino, which was again badly twisted by gales on September 22 and 23. This had seriously retarded tho progress of the work during tho month. Mr. Kennody (.To Aroha) voiced regret at tho delay. * Such setbacks were liable to depleto the resources of tho board. Ho realised, however, that the occurrences were unavoidable. Tho chairman expressed satisfaction at tho patronage accorded Southern shipping. This substantiated tho claim that Thames would bo utilised as a distributing centre for shipping when facilities were provided.
