LOST OVERBOARD.
PASSENGER ON THE NIAGARA. RESIDENT OF AUSTRALIA. A passenger was lost overboard from the Niagara on her trip from Vancouver to Auckland. The evening before tho vessel reached Honolulu Mr. S. A. Mott, of Albury, Now South Wales, aged 70, a member of tho delegation of Australians of Scottish descent on their way buck from Scotland, was missed and a search of tho vessel proved fruitless. Mr. Mott carried practically all his personal papers with him, in addition to a considerable sum of money. . ■ \ - Mr. Mott was a widower, his wife having died shortly s before lie .left Australia. Ho was accompanied on tho trip by his niece. His fellow passengers and members of tho delegation describe Mr. Mott as a man of quiet disposition and a friend i every member of the party. At the time of tho incident Mr. Mott was wearing a gold watch which lie to 1 a fellow-passenger ho would not like to Jose, It had been given to him by his father and he meant tp give it to his son.
