SPEED IN THE AIR.
GREIG'S LATEST TRIAL. 298 MILES AN HOUR. Australian and N.£. Press Association. LONDON, Oct. 7. Flight-Lieutenant David d'Arey Greig, who is shortly to try and beat the air speed records, made another trial flight today iri his Superrnarino Napier plane. He easily attained a speed of 298 miles an hour. Although he was only in the air half-an-hour the new plugs in the engine were so heavily carboned that they had to be scrapped.
