The reef averages ISin. in width of rubbly quartz and pus, from which lib of fair picked stone was selected. The gold is associated with zinc blend and fine grained black mineral. The prospects of something better being met. with are most promising. Albnrnin.—The manager telegraphed yesterday that dabs of gold had been seen in the cross-reef cut m the drive north on the Orlando reef. The manager s usual report states tho drive north on the hangincwail of tho Orlando.reef has been extended 7ft a total of 274*1. from the centre of the'main crosscut west. The reef here averages about lOin. wide and carries nice nnneral and silica. At this point a reef lSin. wide and a solid body, has come in from the footwall on tho west side of tho drive, and should junction with the reef we are driving on about another Cft. ahead of the present face. This reef may prove to be the Star of the South. Isone of this reef has been washed yet, as we have just fired a hole through the reef to show its size and direction. If this reef carries on through the hangingwall branch I will drive ,on t until I cut the junction .with the main Oilatulo reef. The No. 2 rise on the hangingwall branch of tho Orlando reef has been risen 4ft a total of 39ft The reef here averages 2ft. Gin. wide and is a solid body, carrying nice mineral antimony and silica. The country rock oil both walls is still of a firm, splendid class for making „old. The rise on the dropper of . tlio boiis of Freedom reef has been carried Cft.. a total of .lift. The reef here averages 12in. wide hut is a little, split at present* The good country tliat cnmo in from the «outu end .ot the rise is very nearly across now. There lire still a few nice leaders in the footwall portion of the rise.
