LESLIE ORPHANAGE.
NEW HOSTEL PROPOSAL. Tho annual meeting in connection with the Leslie Presbyterian Orphanage was held last evening, tho Rov. T. Haliday presiding over a largo attendance. Tho report and balance-sheet wero adopted. On the motion of (be chairman, it was decided to appoint a superintendent to foster the work of the orphanage in tho outside districts. It was decided to close the Dovonport home, and to transfer tho occupants to tho Leslie Home and to Onehunga. Tho chairman suggested the co-operation of kindred bodies in tho establishment of a hostel, to bo run on the lines of tho Y.M.C.A., for tho benefit of boys who had left tho homo and were now engaged in trades. The Mauraugi Camp has been added to (ho social service department of tho orphanage through tho generosity of Mr. John Marshall, together with a handsome donation. It is proposed (ho children should spend tho greater part of their holidays there.
