MOTOR-CYCLISTS INJURED.

COLLISIONS WITH CARS. TWO AUCKLAND ACCIDENTS. A collision between a motor-cycle ridden by. Mr. Francis Hughes, of 80, Wellington Street, city, and a motor-car occurred at r.he corner of Green Lane Boad and Manukau Road, Epsom, last evening. A fracture of one arm, concussion, arid severe injuries to tho head were sustained by Mr. Hughes, who is a fitter in the Newmarket railway workshops and is 21 years of age. The motor-car, which was driven by Mr. Mervin C. G. French, of East Taniaki, was turning into Green Lane across tho main road, while Mr. Hughes was proceeding outward toward Royal Oak. His machine struck the car broadside on and Mr. Hughes was thrown heavily on his head. He was removed in. uti ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, where his condition was stated later in the evening to be fairly serious. It was not then known whether his skull was fractured. The motor-cycle v was extensively damaged. The windscreen of tho motor-car was broken and one mudguard was buckled. • Through colliding with a motor-car in Fanshawc Street on Saturday morning another motor-cyclist, Mr. Ernest May bury, of Mangere, was thrown heavily from his machine and sustained injuries to the head, including concussion. He was removed to hospital by the St. John ambulance in an unconscious condition but yesterday was reported to be progressing satisfactorily. THROWN FROM MACHINE. RIDER'S CONDITION SERIOUS.
