MUSIC COMPETITIONS.
FESTIVAL AT CAMBRIDGE. CONCERT BY PRIZE-WINNERS. [I!Y TELKORAFH. —OWN CO P. R ESIVJNI >ENT. j CAMBRIDGE, Sunday. The Cambridge musical competitions were concluded with a most successful concert at the Town llall. Fully 800 people were present. The following championships were awarded : Elocutionist (lady).—Miss Norma Langton (Cambridge), 15 points, 1; runner-up, Miss Gladys Brittain (Auckland), 11, 2. Elocutionist (men). —Mr. Noel Year (Auckland), 15, 1. Vocalist (men). —Mr. 11. Piper (Hamilton), 14, 1; A. Walts (Manurcwa), 12, 2. In tho ladies' vocal section none qualified for the championship, honours being very even. Special trophies were awarded to Misses Adclie Bell (Pirongia), Mary Attwood (Cambridge), and Doris Moore (Devonport). Special prize for best work in any pianoforte section. —Miss Mario Darby (Manurewa). Special prize for aggregate in children's elocutionary sections.—Phy II is Halbraitb (Kotorua).
