HOSPITAL AT OPOTIKI.

INSTALLING X-RAY PLANT. MONEY FOR IMPROVEMENTS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OFOTIKI. Sunday. The Opotiki Hospital Board met yesterday, Mr. H. R. Hogg presiding. Nurso Mcllwraith was appointed district maternity nyr.se. A circular was received from the Hospital Board Association suggesting that all hospital nurses be allowed two-days off each month. It was decided to reply that this was already being done as far as possible. The. engineer reported that instructions had been given to the contractors for the installation of an X-ray plant at a cost of £916. The board received notification of the new water charges made by the Opotiki Borough Council. It was decided to reply that arrangements were made for a supply up to March 31, 1929, and the charges were paid in advance, so that no alteration could have effect during that period. It was announced that a loan of £SOO had been received from the Public Trustee for improvements to the hospital.
