SITE FOR BAPTIST CHURCH. WATERWORKS LOAN SCHEME. [by TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Sunday. The purchase of a site for a Baptist Church at Pukekohe has been completed. The section acquired is on the coiner of Seddon Street and Victoria Street. This is on tho main road to Auckland, and near the centre of the town. It is hoped to have a church erected in permanent materials shortly. Tho l'uljekohe Borough Council proposes to take a poll in November on a proposal to borrow £BSOO for waterworks extension, including the enlarging of the mains in streets where the erection of new houses necessitates this for fire-fighting and other purposes. Tho fixing of the date for the poll has been left to the town clerk, Mr. J. F. Deano. The annual sale of work in aid of tho funds of the Presbyterian Church was well patronised. The sum of £9O was realised by the effort.
