TE AWAMUTU DANCE.
Tho children's plain and fancy dress dnneo in aid of the Te Aw am ahi District High School funds, held on Friday evening, exceeded expectations, for there was a very large attendance, including a party of scholars from Cambridge. A feature of tho evening was an exhibition of old English folk dancing by a bevy of high school girls. Among the many children in fancy costume were:—Joan Galloway, who represented frolic; Florrio Holmes, rose; Kathleen Holmes, evening star; Dorothy Jeffery, red, white and blue; Ailcon "Roberts, jazz courtier; Lily Todd, Arabian Princess; Naomi Guryev, rose; Tui Burchell, green moth; Tufnellßnrchell, Dutch sailor; Ron McMahon, Robin Hood; Noel McMahon, Uncle Sam; Linda Martellitli, Maori maiden; Betty Allen, pierrette; Eileen Phillips, tho glad eye; Leo Arnold, jockey; Colin Reidpath, huntsman; Stewart Reidpath, huntsman; Ruth O'Connor, Queen Elizabeth; Dorrie O'Connor, Sir Walter RaleighMona O'Connor, Eastern dancer; Kenneth Arnold, Jockey Jack; Roger and Barbara Swarbrick, Dick Whittingtou and his cat; Audrey Manson, petals; Cre in,a McGovern, pierrette; Shirley Blundell, Irish Colleen; June Blundell, pom pom; Winnie Aldridge, bed-time.
