FINAL LEAGUE TEST.
(BATTLE FOR THE " ASHES." ENGLAND V., NEW ZEALAND. MATCH AT CHRISTCHURCH. NEW ZEALANDERS' INJURIES. Tho third and final Rugby League test match between England and New Zealand will be played at Christchurch to-day. The match is rousing considerable interest, as the result will give either side tho "ashes" for League supremacy in tho world —England having beaten Australia in two out of three tests. The team selected to represent England is a particularly strong side, and, with tho inclusion of J. Parkin as halfback, the visitors' side represents tho best that can be fielded. Parkin broke his thumb early in tho tour and playcc'l, but twice in Australia. The New Zealand team will, in all probability, undergo several changes. During tho progress of the second test Jt Dunedin, J. O'Brien violently collided with Hutt and sustained a badly-broken nose. There is a possibility, however, that Hutt, who suffered concussion, will take his place in the New Zealand team to-day. Prentice was also injured last ' Saturday, and four stitches wero required to patch up an ear wound. Providing the New Zealand players have fully recovered from last Saturday's gruelling match, and they continue to show good form, they havo good prospects of success in the match to-day. Following are the teams: — England. Fullback.—J. Sullivan. Threequarters.—T. E. Gwynne, L. Fairclougli, T. C. Askin, A. Frodsham. Halves. —J. Parkin, W. Roes. Forwaids. —11. Bowman, N. Bentham. J. Thompson, A. Fildes, F. Bowen and W r . Horton. New Zealand. Fullback.—C. Dufty. Threequarters. —B. Ilardgnive, 11. Brisbane, L. Scott. Five-eighths.—M. Wetherill, C. Prentice. Half.—F. Delgrosso. Forwards. —L. Hutt, W. Some.rs, M. O'Brien, V. Goodall, C. Hall, T. Timnis, W. Le Warno (one to be omitted). Mr. A Harlock, Taupiri, has been appointed to control the match.
