Hunt, S.M. in the Police Court yesterday in addressing the owner of a fishing-boat charged with putting to sea without proper lights. Evidence was given to (he effect that defendant's boat was seen moving between the Devonport Wharf and (lie Defence Wharf after dark. I\o lights at all were showing. The Magistrate: You arc liable to a fine of £SO. You will bo fined £l. Defendant protested against this. " Why, you are not even grateful for being let off so lightly," the magistrate said.
