WHANGAREI CO-OPERATIVE. DIVIDEND OF 5 PER CENT. [EY TELEGRAPH. —OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI. Friday. The twenty-first annual report to be submitted to suppliers and shareholders of the Whangarei Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, states that in spitQ of tiie great shrinkage in production owing to the dry summer, the total output for the year was 1198 tons 16cwt., an increase of about 16 tons over the output for the previous year. The average grade was 92.595. The sum of £10,786 0s 6d was available for distribution and it was proposed to absorb this by making a deferred payment of l£d per lb on all butter-fat supplied for the 12 months ended July 31. There was a surplus on the year's working of £350 and this it was proposed to allocate as follows: Dividend, 5 per cent, on paid-up share capital, £337 3s; carry forward, £l2 17s. The retiring directors are Messrs. E. S." Trcmaino and J. N. McCarroll and both have been nominated for re-election. The annual summary is:—Suppliers, 640; lbs. of cream received, 5,650.545; average test of cream, .59.36; lbs. of butter made, 5,685,370; lbs. of butter made per lb. fat, 1.209; average price received per lb. butter, 17.17 d; cost of manufacturing lib. butter (including depreciation), 0.966 d; cost of marketing lib. butter (factory to London), 0.777 d; cost of carting per lb. butter-fat, 0.368 d; average price advanced to. shareholders per lb. butter-fat, all grades, 17.02 d, with deferred payment added, 18.145 d; with deferred payment and cartage added, 18.513 d.
NORTHERN WAIRQA SUPPLIERS. 'THE BONUS FOR LAST SEASON. [IIY TELrCP.APII.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DARO AVILLE, Friday. The Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, will make its monthly pay-out and also last season's bonus this week-end. The butter-fat received last month totalled 44,97511)., against 31,9441b. in July, 1927, an increase of 13,0311b. For June nnd July the total was 108,150111., against 87,7401b., an increase of 20,4101b. Tjie pay-out for July at- Is 5d per lb. butter-fat amounts to £3185 13s 6d. For July. 1927, at Is 4d per lb., the pay-out was £2131. The bonus to be paid out with (he monthly cheque amounts to £40,307, which brings the payment to be made this week up to the handsome total of £43,492 13s 6d. NORFOLK COMPANY'S YEAR. DECREASE IN PRODUCTION. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] MORRINSVILLE. Friday. The report to be presented at the 13th annual meeting of shareholders of the Norfolk (Motumaoho) Dairy Company states that the butter-fat for the past season showed a decrease compared •with the previous year, mainly duo to the dry spell in the early months of this year. The cheese manufactured totalled' 429 tons. The payment of a dividend of five per cent, on paid-up shares is recommended. The directors retiring by rotation are Messrs. W. F. Stark and R. If. Hinton, who are eligible for re-election. The average payment for the season was Is 6.4 d and a further penny per pound will be paid this month. Together with the dividend the payment for the season will lie Is 7.344 d per lb. butter-fat. During the season all cheese was sold f.o.b.
