SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
TEACHERS' EXAMINATIONS. The teachers at the Auckland Training College broke up for the August vacation on Friday and will resume work on Monday, September 3. Secondary and i primary schools will close on Friday, 'the latter resuming on Tuesday, September 4, and secondary schools a week later. The annual examination for teachers' *'C" arid "D" certificates will be held at the chief centres in tho Auckland education district dm-ing the last week in August, school inspectors acting as chief supervisors. Tho'examinations in Auckland will be. held at the Kowhai Junior High School from Tuesday, August 21, until Saturday, September 1. There are 124 candidates in the women's section and 74 men. The supervisors of the two sections will be Mr. G. H. Plummer and itr, B. Blake, respectively*
