POSTAL APPEAL BOARD.
OFFICERS' REPRESENTATIVES
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Friday.
A postal ballot was held for the purpose of electing to the Post and Telegraph Board of Appeal a representative of the officers in the telegraph branch department. The candidates were Mr Wilfred Henry Gladstone Brown, supervisor of the Telegraph Office, Wellington (sitting member), and Mr. Joseph Downs Burns, supervisor, Hokitika. Mr Burns was elected by a majority of 520 votes, the totals being: Mr. Burns. 1814; Mr Brown, 1294.
For the election of a representative of the officers in the postal branch of the service only one candidate was nominated, Mr. Ernest Richard Blewett, accountant. Nelson, who was accordingly declared elected Mr. Blewett succeeds Mr. R B. Reynolds, of Wellington, who has been postal representative on the board for about eight years..
