SURPLUS FOR THE TREASURY. PUBLIC DEBT REDUCTION. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received June 29, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON. June 28. The Secretary to the Treasury, Mr. A. W. Mellon, says the surplus for the fiscal year, 1927-8, ending on June 30, will be about £81,000,000. There is a possibility that (he excess of receipts over expenditure may be more than that. The debt reduction for the year will be about £200,000.000.
