FIRE AT THE LIDO.
FAMOUS WATERING PLACE. BATHERS LOSE POSSESSIONS. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received June 29, 10.25 p.m.) ROME. June 28. Fire completely destroyed all the bathing establishments, the pier and its cafe at the famous watering place, the Lido, Venice. Hundreds of bathers rushed from the sea in an endeavour to save their clothes and valuables, but many of them were unsuccessful.
