FUNNEL FALLS SUDDENLY.
SEAMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED. ACCIDENT ON RIVER STEAMER. [BY TELEGKAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NGARUAWAHIA, Friday. A young man, Frank Joyce, employed on the steamer Rawhiti, was severely injured at about 10.30 this morning as the result of the hinged funnel of the steamer falling on him. The weather was boisterous, and there were terrific gusts of wind. The steamer immediately put in to Ngaruawahia, where a doctor was soon on the scene. He found Joyce suffering from serious injuries to the back, and ordered his immediate removal to the Waikato Hospital by special -ambulance.
