Miss L. Benjamin, of Devonporft, is visiting Wellington, and is staying with Mrs. Duncan Bauchop.
Miss Nettleton, of Devonport,. returned ion Tuesday from a visit to Qambridge, where she was the guest of Mc*. Souter.
Mrs. A. Jamieson, of Dyerviljte, Martinfcorough, has returned to her }icme after a visit to Auckland and the Wailomo Caves.
Mrs. W. P. James, of Mg.sterton, is visiting her brother, Mr. Holmes, at Ngaruawahia, after spending several at Auckland.
A function to farewell Miss B. Dillicar. who is leaving for Australia, was held bv the combined staffs of Smith. Wylie and Co and Perpetual Forests, Limited, yesterday. Mr. R, Smyth, secretary of the iornier company, presented Miss Dillicar with a cheque.
A verv successful jumble -'sale to raise funds for the citv branch of the League of Mothers, was 'held in Myer's Kindergarten last evening. Good business was done, and the league should benefit considerably bv the sale. The ladies in charge 'of the stalls were: Mrs. P. A. Jjindesav (president of the pity branch), Mrs. John Reid, Mrs. F. W. Matthews. Mrs. Passmore, Mrs. C. West, Mrs. T. Purdom, Mrs. Tewsley, Mrs. Mai'ler, Mis. Wainwright, and Mrs. Webster.
