KEEP TO THE LEFT.

Sir, —I wish to protest against the increasing uncouth male element in this city. As I was walking along Queen Street (opposite the G.i'.U.) this evening toward town, and keeping strictly to the left, a man bumped into me and nurt my ngnt knee very severely with a heavy suit case which he was carrying. As 1 was passing the newspaper men at the corner of Queen and Customs Streets, I met another mail not walking on his right side, when moved a little nearer to the newspaper men to get out of his way, he moved the same way, and because I did not at once o-ct out of his way, he kicked -me purposely so hard on my foot that it brought the tears to my eyes, and my foot is now extremely painful and svv°^ el h ie newspaper man remarked about the number of uncouth men there are about our streets. Is it the duty of our police or traffic inspectors to keep order on our footpaths't It certainly is time that something was done, for it is positively dangerous to keep to the left, and against 1 lie law to keep to the ngnt. am on this subject, I would also like to remark that footpaths are intended to walk along, and I would suggest that stationary groups of people be requested to "move along please,' especially between Customs and Quay Streets, opposite the G.P.OJune 28, 1928.
