HOCKEY.
REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. Mi. F. Nicholson presided over a large attendance at the fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Hockey Referees' Association.
Advico was officially received from the New Zealand Hockey Referees' Association that Mr. G. E. Waddingham was successful in passing his New Zealand examination and is now entitled to wear the New Zealand badge. The following members obtained a New Zealand theory pass Messrs. A. G. Williams, G. E. Waddingham, I). M. Frascr, L. 11. Norton, 11. B. Speight, A. E. Playle, R. Avery, A. R.. Biddlo and Misses P. H. Dawson, C. M. Clark and A. Twinamc. Mr. L. C. Kent was unanimously elected patron of the association in place of Mr. L H. Norton, who tendered his resignation as an office-bearer. The following nominations for the shield match, Auckland v. Waikato, on July 28, have been forwarded to the Auckland Hockey Association: Messrs. G. E. Waddingham, L. C. Kent,, A. G. Williams and R. Aver v.
