WINTER EXHIBITION.
ARRANGEMENTS DISCUSSED. SPACE NEARLY ALL BOOKED. Arrangements in connection with the Auckland Winter Exhibition to open on Wednesday, July 11, were discussed by the exhibition committee yesterday, Mr. W. W. Massev presiding. It was decided to ask the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, to open the exhibition. In view of the inability of the Prime Minister to be present, it was farther resolved to ask him to allow ono of his Ministerial colleagues to attend. 'I he question of the inclusion of poultry and homo crafts exhibits was left in the hands of the space committee. Regarding the cattle exhibits, the secretary, Mr. W. P. O'Donnell, reported* that arrangements were not as satisfactory as anticipated. They were assured of Red Poll, Friesian and Jersey exhibits, while the Ayrshire people were not exhibiting. It was reported that practically all the exhibition space had been booked, and all side-show space had been filled. Already, seven free concerts were assured for the 10 nights of the exhibition, while free picture entertainments were being arranged for afternoons and evenings, not otherwise occupied. Music would be supplied by five bandsMr. H. C. Grierson said the work of making wharf sheds ready for the reception of exhibits was well advanced, chiefly owing to arrangements made with Harbour Board officials. Exhibitors would have at least a week in which to arrange their exhibits before the show opened. To ensure that everything would be ready by the opening day, it was decided to communicate with all exhibitors, urging them to set up their stalls as soon as they possibly can.
