SPORTSMEN FINED.
PROSECUTIONS IN COURT. Fines of £5 were imposed in the Police Court yesterday on Kenneth Tapp and Caleb R. Tapp, of Ngaruawahia, on charges of trespass. Charged with shooting without a licence, Charles Head was fined £5. It was said the young men had trespassed and shot at pheasants on a farmer's property. Prosecuted on a charge of taking a dog and guns into the Pukekewa sanctuary, Cecil Sutherland and Norman x\. Sutherland were each fined £2. " There is a doubt about this, and I am going to give the defendant the benefit of it," said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., after hearing evidence against Ivan R. Cathcart, charged with killing imported game without a licence. The case was dismissed.
