JEWELLERY AND CLOTHING. ARTICLES TAKEN FROM HOUSES. Jewellery, opera glasses and clothing were among (lie articles which Charles Thomas Wood, cook, aged 24, admitted stealing when charged in the Police Court yesterday. Accused had stolen from three residences. Articles valued at £54 had been taken by Wood from the house of Agnes Steadman. He also said he stole £ll worth of goods from the home of L'einhart Brummell and £2O worth from Edward Schneider's dwelling. On each charge accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Described as a man guilty of a mean theft, Joseph William Marshall a middleaged gardener, admitted a charge of Stealing £5. In releasing Marshall on probation for a year, the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, said, he would not get another chance.
