GUARANTEE TOWARD STIPEND WAIAPU FARMERS' OFFER. [by telegraph.— press association.] GISBORNE, Sunday. On the suggestion of the chairman of directors of the Waiapu Farmers' Co-oper-ative Company, Limited, Sir Apirana Ngata, made at the annual meeting of the company at Ruatoria yesterday, it was decided to guarantee £IOO a year to the treasurer of the diocese of Waiapu toward the stipend of the proposed suffra-gan-Bishop of Aotearoa, the guarantee not to bo called on if the parish and other contributions are sufficient. • It was also decided to set aside from the profits £2OO a year for five years for the purpose of the Maori Church, the investment and disposal of this sum to be at the discretion of the directors.
