COBHAM AT PLYMOUTH.
LONG FLIGHT AT END. GREAT OVATION GIVEN. British Wireless. RUGBY, May 31. Sir Alan and Lady Cobham arrived at Plymouth at 5.30 p.m. to-day in the flying boat Singapore on the completion of their aerial tour - of Africa. They had been delayed in crossing the Channel by a fog. Thousands of peoplo had gathered on the historic Plymouth Hoe earlier in the day, to witness their arrival, but under the impression that the flight across the Channel had been postponed until to-mor-row the crowd had slowly melted away. The few peoplo who r3mained gave the airman and his wife a great ovation. The Director of Civil Aviation, Sir Sefton Brancker, on behalf of the Air Ministry, welcomed and congratulated Sir Alan.
