MOUNT ROSKILL BOARD.
RAISING OF LOAN MONEY.
The Mount Roskill Road Board met last evening, the chairman, Mr. E. F. Jones, presiding. , The report of the Finance Committee, stating the £5500 quarry loan was taken up by the Bank of New Zealand, and recommending that the bank be asked to consent to the balance, £4628, bsing diverted to building municipal chambers, was adopted. > . An agreement for inclusion of the western area in the Auckland Drainage Board's drainage area was received, and the details will be considered by the full board. The engineer's fortnightly report showed that parts of Hillsborough Road and Richardson Road had been repaired, and Three Kings Road for its entire length. On account of the Main Highways Board, further repairs had been effected in Mount Albert Road. Twelve building permits had been issued during the period. Messrs. Barke Bros., of . Windsor Road, requested they should be exempted from rates while the bridge leading to their property remained in its present impassable state. Mr. Tansley said the road beyond the bridge was not dedicated. and was only half-a-chain wide, and moved that material for mending the bridge should be supplied. An amendment that no action be taken was carried. A denotation of four, residents in Seacliffe Bond waited upon the board to support a complaint regarding the septic tank. They were assured that all possible precautions would bo taken, under the supervision of the Health Department. An offer bv Mr. E. H, Smith for the collection of household refuse for £6 15s a week ■was accepted, the board to maintain the road to the tip and to accept £3O in full settlement of nil claims for the lifting of refuse in the new residential areas.
