ANOTHER KETCH ASHORE.
TAKATU POINT ACCIDENT. ATTEMPT TO REFLOAT TO-DAY. During the storm which raged in the Hauraki Gulf during the week-end, the ketch Kiatia, owned by Winstone, Limited, was driven ashore at Takatu Point, near Kawau Island. The ketch had been loading shingle at a nearby beach, and when the wind increased to a gale in the early hours of Saturdav morning, she dragged her anchor and went ashore. As far as is known little damage was done, and an attempt to refloat her will be made by the ketch Waikonini t-o-d^y. The Kiatia, in charge of Captain Chisholm, is a wooden vessel, 65ft. long, 18ft. wide, and with a depth of about 3ft., her gross tonnage being 20 tons. The vessel was built in Auckland.
