FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA.
SMITH REACHES OAKLAND. START FIXED FOR THURSDAY. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received May 26, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 25. A message from Oakland, California, says Captain Kirigsford Smith has arrived there in his plane the Southern Cross after a pleasant but uneventful trip from Los Angeles. Captain Smith and his three associates intend to leave Oakland for Honolulu next Thursday, if the weather is favourable, on their flight to Australia.
