SIDE-CAR OVERTURNS.
WOMAN OCCUPANT INJURED. Severe injuries to the head and face were sustained by Mrs. Sarah Riley, of Mokoia Road, Birkenhead, through being thrown heavily from a side-car, which broke away from a motor-cycle being driven by her son. Mr. Eric Riley, in Glenfield Road, on Saturday morning. The attachment connecting the side-car to the cycle suddenly broke, and the sidecar turned a complete somersault, throwing Mrs. Riley on to the road. The cycle did not capsize, and continued on for some distance. After receiving medical attention, the injured woman was removed to the Auckland Hospital. Last evening Mrs. Riley was reported to be making satisfactory progress.
