CYCLING.
RACING AT MANGERE. WIND HAMPERS RIDERS. The Manukau Amateur Cycle Club held two road races at Mangeve on Saturday, when a 5i miles junior and an 11 miles open handicap were decided. A strong wind was experienced, and tho conditions were against fast times. Tho junior event was won in Rood stylo by D. Hope, who also secured fastest time. The opon race was won by A. W. Pinker, who showed a fine turn of speed over the concluding stages. The results were as follows: Junior Handicap, 51 miles.—D. Hope, scr, 1: F. E. Pinker. 455. 2: H. McEntee, lm 15s, 3. Won easily by 100 yds. Time. 15m 21 3-ss. 11 Miles Open Handicap.--A. W, Pinker, lm 309, 1: P. Taylor, 2m 30b. 2: T. Aldred, 3m 3a, 3 Forts-one started. The field was bunched for a greater part of the journey, and over the list mile Taylor and Aldred were forcing the pace. In a good finish Pinker stayed on well, to win by . several lengths. Time. 30m Is. Fastest time, H. Dwight, 29m 40 4-ss. AUCKLAND CLUB. . The Auckland Cycling Club held a 14 miles open road race handicap for cash riders on Saturday. The event was won by W. Archer, and fastest time was secured by K. J. Mathieson. The result was as follows:—W. Archer, 2m 80s, 1; N. Hedley, 2in 308. 1: J. Lindap, lm 80s, 3. Time, 38m 335. Fastest time, K. J.
