Vincent last evening ; —Cloudy and unsettled weather is indicated, with further heavy rain, particularly throughout the Auckland province, hut conditions are expected to improve shortly in northern districts. Easterly winds, strong to gale at times, veering to south. Rough to heavy seas on the north Tasman Sea and along the east coast. The tropical disturbance of cyclonic character is centred northward of New Zealand. Flooded rivers in Waikato and North Auckland districts, Considerable mist and fog in coastal areas. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as followsAn intense cyclone is covering the northern Tasman Sea and advancing toward New Zealand. Indications are for moderate to strong north-east to south-east winds, reaching gale force at many places. Seas heavy on the east coast north of Akaroa, and rough elsewhere in New Zealand waters. Strong winds to gale in the Tasman Sea; northerly, later backing to south-easterly, in the central and southern areas, with g:e:t:erally heavy seas. Weather unsettled, cloudy and misty, with rain in all districts. Heavy falls in many parts and snow il> the high country of the South Island. RAINFALL RECORD.
