TAKAPUNA ROAD WORKS.
POLL IN SIX WEEKS. It is now definitely arranged that the poll of Takapuna ratepayers upon the Borough Council's loan proposals with regard to road works for the present year shall be taken in about six weeks from now—some time in the second week of July, on a date that will be determined to-day. The requirement of the statute is that the decision of the council to test tho feeling of the ratepayers on such matters shall be advertised for four weeks, and the necessary notice will bo given in to-morrow's Heuai.d. The intended poll will determine whether the borough shall proceed with such works as tho concreting of tho two gaps now existing in tho Devonport-Takapuna and the Bayswater'l'akapuna roads, and also tho similar gap at the back of Lake Pupuke, between Milford and tho slope of SherrilFs Hill*
