THE AUCKLAND AUXILIARY. AROUSING PUBLIC INTEREST. » With the object of stimulating public interest in the work of the Auckland Hospital, the Hospital Auxiliary, which cares for the sick and needy of Auckland, has organised, a hospital week, which will commence to-morrow. This is the first effort of its kind in the Dominion. During the week the sympathy of the public is earnestly desired, and material help is sought. Mention will be made in all churches to-morrow of the work done by the auxiliary. During the week, a reunion of trainees of the hospital will be held at the hospital, while next Thursday afternoon Girl Guides of the Auckland Division will visit the women's and children's wards and distribute flowers- and presents to patients. A bridge and dar.ee evening will take place at the Click Clack Cabaret in the evening. In addition, addresses on suitable subjects will be broadcast. These will include a talk by Mr. William "Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, and a talk on "Recent Advances in Medicine," by Dr. Be van Brown. Mrs. C. H. Drysdale is the organising secretary of the committee making the arrangements, which are not yet complete. No effort is being spared to bring about the result desired A street collection in aid of the funds of the auxiliary will take placo next Friday.
