"NOT HAND-MADE."
TAILORING FIRM FINED. Holding S. Meltzer, of the Empire Tailors, Limited, Queen Street, City, guilty in the Police Court yesterday on a charge of selling as tailor-made a suit that was not tailor-made, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., imposed a fino of £2 and costs. According to Francis J. O'Keefe, dentist, Taihape, J. Clarkson, salesman, canvassed an order fr«m him for a suit. Written on the order was the promise that it would be a hand-made suit. When the suit arrived witness decided it was not as he had ordered. It was ill-fitting and not hand-made. For the defence, Clarkson admitted he took O'Keefe's order, hut said it was understood the suit, which cost £8 Bs, would be hand-finished, but not handmade. ,
