OFFENCES BY SHOPKEEPERS
PROSECUTIONS IN COURT. Shopkeepers were again warned by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, when he fined Edward J. Carter and John Smith each £1 for keeping their shops open on Sundays for trading. Charged with exposing goods for sale on Anzac Day. Elizabeth Crawford was ordered to pay costs, while Jessie E. Eraser was fined 10s. On a charge of failing to notify the inspector that he was the occupier of a shop in which smoking requisites were sold, L J . Creedon was fined £l. fine of £2 was imposed' on A. G. Slirimpton for failing to close his shop at a certain hour on Easter Saturday.
