MUSIC AWARDS.
NEW ZEALANDERS' SUCCESS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Tho ■ Associated Board of the Royal Academy of Music and the "Royal Collego of Music, London, offers three exhibitions annually to candidates at examinations who show exceptional musical promise. The winners are entitled to free musical tuition at the Royal Academy or the Royal College for a term of not less than two years. It frequently happens that three or foyr years are given, and in some cases there is a special grant toward expenses. Advice has been received from London that as the result of the 1927 examinations exhibitions have been awarded as follows:—Miss H. F. C. Hart, ,of Wellington, tenable in pianoforte at the Royal Academy; Mr., H. McCutcheon, of Gore, tenable in violin at the Royal Academy; and Miss F. S. Mac Clean, of Carterton, tenable in pianoforte at the' Royal College. These exhibitions must bo taken up within one year of tho date of award.
