FRENCH MURDER CASE.
SEARCH FOR CRIMINAL. MAN SEEN IN THE LOCALITY. HUSBAND OFFERS REWARD. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received May 22, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, May 21. The police have now formed the opinion that the murder of the Englishwoman, Mrs. Florence Wilson, on the sand dunes near Le Bourget, may not have been merely a brutal crime, but the climax to an encounter with a personal enemy. They are searching for a man in a grey raincoat who was seen near the brushwood about the time of the murder. This is the outcome of a statement made by a resident of the locality to the effect that he had seen a man running into the bushes at the scene of the outrage. The man sought is said to bo an Englishman of whom the police have a detailed description. It is believed Vambre, the deaf mute who was arrested, has established his innocence and may be released to-day. According to a despatch from London Mrs. Wilson was a daughter of the late Mr. Charles Cammell, of the steel firm of Cammell, Laird and Company, of •which Mr. Wilson, husband of the murdered woman, is a director. He is a son of Mr. George Wilson, who is chairman of the company. Formerly Mr. Wilson was managing director of an iron and steel company in Cumberland. His wife, before her marriage, lived in Wiltshire and was a well-known West Cumberland huntswoman. Mr. Wilson announces that a large reward will bo paid to anyone who brings his wife's murderer to justice. A muffler and a labourer s ordinary horn-handled knife have been found. The latter is believed to be the weapon which was used to'murder Mrs. Wilson.
