THIEVES VISIT DWELLING.
REMUERA HOME DISTURBED. MISSING SHOES AND MONEY. Mystery shrouds an unusual case of suspected theft which is now being investigated by the police. During Monday evening two pairs of ladies' shoes, one pair being silver tissue and the other crocodile leather, and a pound note were missed from the residence of Mr. Arthur F. Mogenie, 20, Lucerne Road, Remuera. Having dinner away from home, Mr. Mogenie and family left the house locked in the ordinary way. From outward appearances the house was as it had been left when Mr. Mogenie returned late in the evening. Unlatching the door, he switched on the electricity, flooding the rooms with light. It was then that he discovered the contents of his home had been disturbed by an unknown intruder. Strewn about the room were various articles, and the discovery was made that the shoes and money were missing. All the doors were locked, and the windows were in the same position as they had been earlier in the day.
