BREAKING AND ENTERING.

THEFTS FROM EIGHT HOUSES. TRAVELLING TINKER'S OFFENCES. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHUKCH. Tuesday. Eight charges of breaking and entering various houses early this month and committing theft were admitted by Henry Patrick Moore, aged 38, in the Police Court to-day. The police said accused travelled round as a tinker. To gain entrance he broke leadlights over the doors or windows and then released the catch in the door. In all he had taken £IOO worth of goods and jewellery from eight houses. He was caught in the act at a Sydenham house. Accused was committed for sentence.
