APPOINTMENT OF PRESIDENT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.J WELLINGTON. Tuesday. Mr. B. C. Aston, F.1.C., F.C.8., F.N.Z.L,-has been appointed president of the New Zealand Institute, in succession to the late Dr. Alan Thomson. Mr. Aston has for many years been chief chemical adviser to the Government Department of Agriculture and he has held the position of secretary of the institute. He is an authority on plant-life in New Zealand.
