PAEROA BOROUGH RATES.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAERO\, Tuesday. The Paeroa Borough Council has decided to strike rates for the year 1928-29 totalling nittepence in the pound. This is an increase of 1 3-16 d over those for the previous year. The general, lighting, financial adjustment loan and sewerage loan rates remain the same, the domain improvements loan rate shows a decrease of l-16d, but the 1920 street improvements loan rate shows an increase, as does the hospital rate. The latter shows an increase of owing to the larger amount levied for the current year. Provision is also required to collect a rate on the £2OOO relief of unemployment loan to meet the interest and sinking fund on the loan.
