TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weathei forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day t was supplied to us by Mr H. M. Vincent last evening:— Mainly fine weather is indicated temporarily., but with increasing cloudiness, further unsettled weather following, with showers in many places, particularly iri districts bordering on the West Coast, and in areas southward of New Plymouth and Napier. Southerly winds, moderate to strong, veering to west, and becoming squally. Fairly rough seas on the West Coast, but elsewhere mainly moderate. Barometric pressure is increasing rapidly as the aftermath of the recent cyclonic disturbance, but owing to persistent Antarctic influences only a temporary improvement is expected, further unsettled and boisterous weather being likely to follow. Seas moderate in the Cook Strait region, otherwise rough in New Zealand waters. Strong southerly winds to gale and rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Still some scattered showers, chiefly in western districts and the far south, but improving. Cold night temperatures with many frosts. RAINFALL RECORD.
