IMPRESSIONS OF INDIA.
FIRST INSTITUTE LECTURE. Tho first of tho Auckland Institute's winter lectures will take place this evening in tho University College Hall, Princes Street, when the president, Mr. H. E. Vaile, will give an address on "Impressions of India." Mr. Vaile recently made an extended tour of India and visited distant places, such as the Khyber Pass and several remote native States. He has brought back a number of very interesting pictures, .which will be shown as lantern slides.
