AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. MODERATELY ACTIVE TONE. Moderate aoti'vity marked yesterday's business on the Auckland Stock Exchange. In banks . Australasias, rights, were done at 60s arid 59s 6d, showing little variation on the prices paid last week. There was also a sale of Nationals of New Zealand, the price paid, £7 3s, representing an advance of Is 6d on that current earlier in the week. New Zealands were sought at each call at the ruling rate of 60s, but holders wanted threepence more. Iri insurance New Zealands changed hands at the current price of 41s, while South British were done at 58s 9d, ex div., a reduction of Is on the price paid earlier in the week before the payment of the interim dividend of Is 2d a share. In gas Aucklands had the first sale of the week at 22s compared with the recently current price of 225, while tho contributing issue changed hands at tho ruling rate of 16s 2d. In shipping the contributing issue of Northerns had sale at 7s 6d, compared with 7s 2d at the preceding sale at the end of March.

In breweries the current price of 46s 6d was again paid for New Zealands. In miscellaneous the only sale was in Wilsons Cements, which changed hands at the ruling figure of 38s 3d. In mining Waihis recorded another advance, business taking place at 13s at the late call, against 12s 6d on Tuesday.

Tho following sales took place: —Bank pf Australasia, rights, 60s, 59s 6d; National Bank of New Zealand, £7 3s; New Zealand Insurance, 41s; South British Insurance, ex div., 58s 9d; Auckland Gas, 22s lid; Auckland Gas con., 16s 2d; Northern Steamship, con, 7s 6d; Now Zealand Breweries, shares, 46s 6d; Wilsons Cement, 38s 3d; Waihi, 13s.
