THE CITY COUNCIL.
THREE MORE MEMBERS. ROAD BOARD REPRESENTATIVES. Tamaki is to have two representatives on the City Council and Orakei one, according to advice received from the Acting-Minister of Internal Affairs, Sir Maui Pomare, yesterday. Tamaki's representatives will be Mr. J. W. Carr, chairman of the now defunct road board, and Mr. J. H. Hubber, a member of the board. Mr. George Newcombe, chairman of the Orakei Board, will represent that district on the council. The new members will take part in the council's deliberations at its meeting next Thursday. With these three additions the council will comprise 26 members, including the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon. At the election in April of last year, 21 councillors were chosen by tha citizens, and since then the numbers have been increased by two as the result of the amalgamation of Avondale and now by three following the union of the Tamaki and Orakei road districts with the city.
